Every
Man A Member
This is my final column as Brotherhood President. It has been a successful
two years with our membership standing at 83. Financially, we were able
to provide $5,000 in Campership funds, as well as funding Temple projects,
including Buildings and Grounds. Thanks to the Brotherhood Board for their
support during my term of office. David Sicherman has been a loyal VP
Programming, always willing to take on extra responsibilities. Guy Decatrel
has served well as the new Membership Chair, and organized a very successful
Mothers' Day Brunch this year. Mike Chakov has kept an eye on finances
as Treasurer, ensuring financial strength. Roger Stewart has always been
a steady source of good advice, in addition to his duties as Secretary.
Jesse Lichaa, Murray Farber, Andy Karsh, Mark Alson, and Jerry Gurss have
all stood up when asked for help, and gave freely of their time and energy,
making Brotherhood what it is today. Thank you to Dewey Slater and the
TBI Board for your support and steadiness. Cantor Pevsner's contributions
to our events were very much appreciated. Rabbi Ourach's good will and
good advice have made my job easier. The close cooperation of Sisterhood
and their President, Roberta Bavin, has been, in my experience, unprecedented.
Lastly, I want to thank each and every one of you, the Members of TBI
Brotherhood, for all your volunteerism, hard work, ideas, and good efforts.
You continue to demonstrate the ideal of menshlichkeit, and you are a
blessing to the Congregation. Please join me in welcoming the new Brotherhood
President for 2006-2008, David Sicherman. I trust he will enjoy the same
support you have given me.
Yours, in Brotherhood,
Mike Waxman
